e-Competency

This handy guide will provide information about our e-Competency courses.

Other courses

We also offer a few courses created by our hospitality division. While these aren’t specifically tailored for the HSC sector, they may still be useful for your organisation:

  • Interview Skills

  • Modern Slavery: UK businesses with an annual turnover of £36 million+ are expected to have a Modern Slavery Policy, often including staff training. Although this doesn’t impact most of our HSC customers, this hospitality-developed course provides valuable insights if your organisation would like to adopt it.

Recommendations

Some courses offered by our hospitality colleagues have more suitable HSC-focused equivalents. See our recommendations below:

  • Disability Awareness: We recommend the HSC course Equality and Diversity.

  • Drugs Awareness: We recommend the HSC course Substance Misuse.

  • HACCP: We recommend the HSC course Food Safety.

  • Bribery Act: Please check your company’s policies and procedures or speak with your account manager about Access Policies and Procedures.

  • Right to Work in the UK: Please check your company’s policies and procedures or speak with your account manager about Access Policies and Procedures.

Content review

Our team of subject matter experts monitor legislative changes in the health and social care sector and alert us in good time to meet legal requirements. We also run a regular review program to keep our products updated. Plus, we capture and archive ad hoc feedback and comments, reviewing them regularly to implement improvements where needed.

We aim to proactively review mandatory content every 12 months, with additional content every 24 months. This is mandatory as advised at https://www.skillsforcare.org.uk/resources/documents/Developing-your-workforce/Guide-to-developing-your-staff/Statutory-and-mandatory-training-guide-July-2024.pdf

Course renewals

Course renewal frequency should be set up in line with local authority guidelines and can be managed on our system by following this guide.
