Our Tile unlocking feature is designed to release eLearning courses in stages to learners. It works by allowing the user to complete one set of courses before being able to see and complete the next group of courses. This is to ensure that users complete training in the specific order you need them to.
Key points to consider before you set up Tile Unlocking
Users won't be able to jump to another set of courses to complete certain courses unless they have completed the previous set first.
You can have a maximum of 6 groups.
You can choose any title for your course groups and can include any courses.
A course can only appear in one group.
Course grouping is applied to all users and is not possible to apply the rules to specific users only.
Set up Tile Unlocking
If it's your first time setting up course groups, you'll need access to the Admin Tool and apply the feature permission for your company. Follow the first step below to do this. If you already have it enabled, continue with the rest of the article on how to manage your courses.
Enable Tile Unlocking
Sign in to the Admin Tool.
Click Details.
Click Permissions.
Tick the box next to Unlock tiles in groups.
You're now ready to get started with Tile Unlocking.
Group courses together
The first step is to create the sets of courses. Decide how many you want to create and what you want to name them.
⚠️Warning: Once your groups are set up, some courses may no longer be visible to users due to the order you group the courses.
From the Admin Tool, click Config.
Click Tile Unlocking, then click Add.
Name the group, then click Next.
In the Products field, click the add icon.
Select the box next to the courses you want to include in the group, then click Add.
Click Save.
Repeat the steps above for each group you want to create.
Manage existing configurations
Already set up Tile Unlocking? You can quickly update group settings, change the order of tiles, or tidy things up.
⚠️Warning: Implementation is immediate. Those already signed in to the platform will see changes the next time they sign into their account.
Add new courses to a group
Give learners access to more content by adding courses to an existing group.
Click Config, then click Tile Unlocking.
Click on the group you want to include more courses in.
In the Products field, click the + icon.
Select the box next to the course title you want to add.
Click Add, then click Save.
Remove courses from a group
Clear out courses that are no longer needed in a group.
Click Config, then click Tile Unlocking.
Click the group you want to remove courses from.
Click the bin Icon next to the title of the course.
Click Save.
Rename a group
Update group names as needed to keep them clear and relevant.
Click Config, then click Tile Unlocking.
Locate the group, then click the pencil icon next to it.
Amend the group name, then click Save.
Delete a group
Remove outdated or unused groups to keep things organised.
Click Config, then click Tile Unlocking.
Click Tile Unlocking.
Locate the group, then click the bin icon next to it.
Click Save.
Re-order groups
Change the display order to prioritise key groups for learners.
Click Config, then click Tile Unlocking.
Click Re-order.
Click on the group, then drag it too the required position.
Click Save.
